Ethical Guidelines for Mediators
NADRAC Projects
- National Mediator Accreditation Committee
- ADR in Government
- Biennial ADR Research Forum
Some professional bodies such as the Law Council of Australia, have already developed Ethical Guidelines for Mediators but it is unclear how widely accepted they are across the broad range of professional groups that may engage in mediation.
NADRAC will consider:
- what ethical standards have already been developed
- whether those ethical standards have general application or are limited in their application (eg to particular professions)
- what scope there is to develop ethical guidelines for mediators that have general application to all mediators irrespective of their professional background, and
- what issues mediators and mediator organisations may face in applying any proposed guidelines?
